With each good catch there's a story, of course. No fisherman's lie this time, but the gospel truth. This is what Tom told me ... Just before the dark, I decided to go after very active fish in the shallow part about 50 m from me. I got there when fish were cruising around every now and then with the dorsal fin out and the tail following. The distance between those two fins was big enough for me to be sure it was my record trout. Fish went after my bunny fry but didn't take it !?!?! I changed the fly to the floating shrimp that Bart gave me 2 years ago because I thought the fish was taking something from the surface. I must have touched it's lips with it 'cause suddenly the fish ran out to the deep and never came back again. On my way out I saw another fish doing the same. But it was a lot smaller. This one took my shrimp on the first cast and I had a fish there jumping, making noise and taking big bulks of grass with every run it made. The weeds were so heavy on my line that I didn't feel the fish anymore, I thought it was gone! I followed the line to the last weed bulk and checked the line. Fish was still on and probably tired because of the warm water. There was nothing I could do than to land it with my hands. The fish was a little over 60 cm (24 inch) but under 65 cm as the measurement on my rod showed. Bravo Maestro Modic ... well done !!
